Patients' Personal Accounts

The "stories" here are not full stories, from diagnosis to recovery. Instead, these are snippets taken in-person, in the cancer wards in hospitals, from people who were undergoing treatment. [Taken from MB Hospital with permission of Dr. Narendra Rathore and from Geetanjali Hospital with permission of Dr. Ankit Agarwal] This makes them authentic, true, and very relatable to people who are in the treatment phase of their cancer journey. All of the stories have some uplifting element of hopefulness in them, shining a light in dark times. Hope and inner strength are very important to get through treatment. These personal accounts show that with a positive attitude, even the toughest cancer can be fought.

We recorded each person answering some basic questions about their cancer journey, and then transcribed it onto this website. Since these are from people in the ward who didn't previously know anything about us, and since some interviewees were having therapy while we spoke, the personal accounts are all short. However, that doesn't mean they cannot be a helpful source for other cancer patients to see.

Note: Some edits were made when transcribing for conciseness, consistency, and clarity. We have tried to maintain the original text quality, but some edits were made during translation.
