Laxmi Devi's story

~Patient's daughter speaking

When did you find out about this?
About six months ago.

How was it diagnosed?
We consulted a gynecologist. She advised a sonography, so we got that done. Some signs showed up in the results, so she recommended another test. That test confirmed it was cancer — stage four. Then we contacted Dr. Narendra Rathore, who motivated us a lot. Four chemotherapy sessions were done here, and after a follow-up test, it was found that the cancer had been cured. After that, she also underwent multiple rounds of radiotherapy. Now the issue has been resolved.

Who is paying for the treatment?
My father was a government employee, so we are getting the treatment done under the RGHS scheme.

How did you and your family feel when you first found out about the cancer?
At that time, we felt it was a dreadful disease, and my mother also felt a bit anxious… but there was no other option. Treatment had to be done — maybe it would work, maybe not. The doctor encouraged us a lot, so we moved forward with a positive mindset.

What advice would you give to those who have just been diagnosed with cancer?
It's just an illness, and one shouldn’t be afraid of it. Follow the doctor’s instructions, stick to the advised precautions, and eat healthy food. A good diet helps in faster recovery.

We want to use personal experience and gathered knowledge about cancer to build a platform that help others.
