What is your name?
My name is Laxman.

What is your relation to the patient?
She is my wife — Nani Bai. She has cervical cancer. We came to know about it just a month ago. We got her tested at another hospital, and they referred us here. The treatment is currently ongoing, and she is undergoing chemotherapy.

Are you paying for the treatment yourself, or is the government covering it?
The government is covering all the expenses; we are not paying anything.

How did you feel when you first found out about the cancer?
At that time, we felt a bit anxious, but that’s natural. Now we have to fight it. If we become weak, the cancer will win.

What advice would you give to those who have just been diagnosed with cancer?
I don’t know what advice I can really give… but if someone has cancer, they simply have to fight it.
