Suneeta Dutta's story

~Patient's husband speaking

Your name?
My name is Kiran Dutta.
What is your relationship to the patient?
This is my mother, Suneeta Dutta.
What type of cancer does she currently have?
She has it in her uterus. Not too much, it is currently at stage two. Mother used to have pain in her uterus, so we got tests done at this very hospital. The treatment was started there after a CT scan and other tests.
What treatments are going on right now?
Right now, chemotherapy and radiation are going on.
At what intervals is the treatment given?
Radiation is going on regularly, and chemotherapy is given once a week.
How long ago did you find out about this?
It has only been three months since we found out about this. As soon as we found out, we started the treatment immediately.
Where all has her treatment been done so far?
So far, it has only been from here (MB Hospital).
Do you pay for the treatment out of your own pocket, or is it funded by the government?
The hospital covers all the money, we have not paid a single penny so far.
When you found out that she has cancer, you must have felt anxious. Did she and the family feel any better with the doctor's support?
Yes, it has made a difference. She also does not have that much tension now.
Would you like to give any advice to those who have just received the news that they have cancer?
You just have to keep up your courage. They will get well, but taking treatment on time is essential.

We want to use personal experience and gathered knowledge about cancer to build a platform that help others.
